Abstract Arthrocnemum macrostachyum L. is a stem-succulent perennial in the family Chenopodiaceae and is widely distributed in the tidal marshes of Pakistan. Seeds were collected from a coastal salt marsh situated on the Arabian Sea coast at Sands Pit, Karachi, Pakistan.
The sand is usually fine, graded with. mud and has a high content of marine carbonates. This complex consists of the dominant and associated species comprising, Atriplex coriacea, A. farinosum, A. leucoclada, Suaeda vermiculata, S. monoica, S. moschata and Arthrocnemum macrostachyum.
Main species in salt marsh are Sarcocornia fruticosa, Arthrocnemum macrostachyum, Halimione portulacoides and Halocnemum strobilaceum. Habitat 92D0 (Southern riparian galleries and thickets) is also represented in sandy areas, composed of Tamarix canariensis and Tamarix boveana. 2.2. Wetland basin characteristics.
The effects of municipal wastewater discharge and anthropogenic sedimentation on the structure and composition of gray mangrove ( Avicennia marina (Forsk.) Vierh.) communities along Tubli Bay coastlines in Bahrain were investigated. Growth and regeneration of mangrove were measured, and its community was characterized. Sediment profile was analyzed for texture, pH, and salinity.
Arthrocnemum is a genus of shrubs in the family Amaranthaceae.Plants are halophytes with fleshy, apparently articulated plant stems and reduced leaves and flowers. There are two species, occurring from Southwest Asia and the Mediterranean region, to western tropical Africa and Macaronesia. An American species will have to be excluded. Description. The species of Arthrocnemum are low shrubs up.

Glaucous Glasswort Arthrocnemum macrostachyum occur. On drier sandy areas mainly on the landward side of the mangroves, Qataf Suaeda aegyptiaca is dominant. Other common plants recorded on stable sandy areas include Hesar Indigofera oblongifolia, Oshub Cyperus conglomeratus, and Limonium Limonium stocksii. On the landward.
Wildscreen's Arkive project was launched in 2003 and grew to become the world's biggest encyclopaedia of life on Earth. With the help of over 7,000 of the world’s best wildlife filmmakers and photographers, conservationists and scientists, Arkive.org featured multi-media fact-files for more than 16,000 endangered species.
Description: Arthrocnemum macrostachyum is a much branched, apparently leafless (fused leaf pairs covering the nodes), perennial, monoecious, glabrous, halophyte shrub, 0.3-1(1.5) m high, with stout, very succulent stems and branches erect to ascending, sometimes rooting at base.
Aeluropus lagopoides are recorded from Dakhla Oasis; Cladium mariscus and Arthrocnemum macrostachyum. Fig. 2 -TWlNSPAN classification of the 7 vegetation clusters of the Siwa Oasis inland saltmarshes. For abbrevations of indicator species, see Appendix. Studia Geobot. 19 (2000).
The classification (TWINSPAN) and ordination (DCA) techniques of the stands led to recognition of four vegetation groups, namely: group A dominated by Cynodon dactylon, group B dominated by Phragmites australis, group C codominated by Arthrocnemum macrostachyum-Phragmites australis and group D dominated by Phragmites australis. The light was thrown on the main factors influencing the.

A floristic data matrix (59 stands and 137 species) was subjected to classification by 2-way indicator. canonical correspondence analysis indicated that the distribution of Arthrocnemum macrostachyum was affected.
Brackish coastal lagoons Lagoons are expanses of shallow coastal salt water, of varying salinity and water volume, wholly or partially separated from the sea by sand banks or shingle, or, less frequently, by rocks. Fully saline coastal lagoons are classified as X02. Flads and gloes, considered a Baltic variety of lagoons, are small, usually shallow, more or less delimited water bodies still.
In this study, the microbial community structures of the endosphere of the halophyte Arthrocnemum macrostachyum were evaluated from two locations in Mallorca, Spain, focusing on three plant compartments (roots, green and red stems) compared to the rhizospheric soil where the plants grew.
